MERILÄ LAB
Ecological and Evolutionary Genetics Research
Merilä Lab Findings
Merilä Lab's current research focus is on Determinants of genetic diversity; Heterogenous parallel evolution, causes and consequences; as well as Inbreeding and mutation loads in population isolates.

PUBLICATIONS WITH HKU AFFILIATION
Established in October 2020 our Lab at HKU recruited our first postdocs and students 2021. Much of the ground work behind our current research was done is Helsinki, here you can find a selection of our work there.

SELECTED PUBLICATIONS
Professor Merila has curated this collection fo papers that highlight key findings and conceptual advancements that he considers to be of particular significance. Included are also papers published in high-impact journals that have made a significant impact in the scientific community.

FISHERIES PUBLICATIONS
Merilä Lab members have conducted extensive research in the field of fisheries including the use of novel methods to determine patterns of parallel evolution of freshwater three-spined sticklebacks.

Our research group is interested in Evolution in response to climate change globally, and to which degree organisms can respond to changing environmental conditions.

Profesor Juha Merilä has published extensively in the field of Evolution, Ecological genetics,Conservation genetics, and Zoology. His publications are wide ranging and can be found in many well known scientific journals.
